Along with the increase of pipelines and growth of pipe ages, various pipeline accidents including water leakage, spraying, dripping, scaling, corrosion, blocking, etc. occur constantly. In order to solve these problems, the technologies of pipeline cleaning, scale inhibition, corrosion resistance, drag reduction, leaking stoppage, etc. have been widely applied in pipeline maintenance.
       At present, the common methods for pipeline maintenance mainly include high-pressure water jet cleaning, winch cleaning, tube cleaner cleaning and smart ball cleaning. 
1、High-pressure water jet cleaning
       It is a main method for maintenance of industrial and civil pipelines internationally, its application proportion is about 80%~90%, and it is mainly applicable for eliminating loose deposits in pipelines or serving as the preparatory measure before pipeline detection and repair. 
 
 


2、Winch cleaning
        This is a method commonly used in China, and it is applicable for sewage pipelines of various diameters. In particular, this method has favorable effect when the pipeline is seriously blocked by silt, the silt has densely cemented and hydraulic dredging has poor effect. 
3、Tube cleaner cleaning
        The method has been developing rapidly in recent years, it has been widely applied in oil, gas and water pipelines with more and more significant effects being obtained.
4、Smart ball cleaning
       It is a modern comprehensive high and new technology which integrates microelectronics, computing technology, hydromechanics, etc. It notonly can detect the leak source, corrosive status, stress conditions, cracks and depressions of pipeline, but also can predict the service life of the pipeline according to the conditions of corrosion, wall thickness, operation pressure, etc., so that reliable basis can be provided for the maintenance and safe operation of the pipeline. Its function is far beyond the scope of “pipeline maintenance”.
